Goal¶
The primary objective of this project is to aggregate and process real-time mobility data from all active bikeshare operators in Canada. Utilizing the General Bikeshare Feed Specification (GBFS), the workflow is split into two phases: first, identifying and indexing all Canadian-specific networks from the global registry, and second, performing deep-data extraction from individual system endpoints.

This ensures a centralized, standardized dataset for cross-city comparison.
Overview of Technical Implementation¶
The technical scope focuses on the integration of station_information and station_status API feeds to provide a comprehensive snapshot of infrastructure and live availability. By merging static metadata (station names, locations, and capacities) with dynamic telemetry (available bikes and docks), the project prepares the data for exploratory analysis. The final output includes spatial visualizations that map station density and service health across major Canadian urban hubs, serving as a baseline for future urban mobility research.
